

Thanks, all.ĮDIT: Thank you for your comments. This is my opinion of course and I would love to hear yours. I do not understand how it has received so much acclaim. The book is based upon these overly simple and incorrect ideas. Completely forgetting about all of the natural creatures that DO stockpile ants for one.

My favorite logical flaw (and the book is full of them) is when the gorilla states that natural creatures simply go and find food when they are hungry attacking the idea of stockpiling food/resources. I had already read the book in 8th grade (the reading level it belongs at). I was appalled that we were made to read this novel for a required college level course. I come from an architectural background with a lot of schooling in sustainable design. He clearly has no understanding of environmental impact and is coming from a reactionary standpoint with little to no research behind it.
Personally, I found it to be sophomoric in every sense of the word. If you could include some prior knowledge/perceptions/background/education you had before reading it that would be helpful.ĭo not read below this sentence until after you answer, please. I want to hear some reactions from people who have read it.
